Poetry By Design: a Reappraisal of Concrete and Visual Poetry

We are delighted to announce the opening of a new exhibition at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery (Parkinson Building, University of Leeds) curated by Professor Fiona Becket and Dr Emma Trott which examines creativity and visual poetics.

The exhibition explores visual and concrete poetry, including magazines and art objects from the post-War, pre-computer period, as well as key works from the present. It features poems by Ian Hamilton Finlay, Dom Sylvester Houédard, Bob Cobbing, Sascha Aurora Akhtar, and Kimberly Campanello.

The exhibits have been sourced from Special Collections in the Brotherton Library here at Leeds and from private collections.

The exhibition is free of charge and open until August 23.
