Ailbhe Darcy grew up in Dublin and currently lives in Cardiff. She is the author of two full-length collections, Imaginary Menagerie (2011) and Insistence (2018). The latter won the Wales Book of the Year Award 2019 and was shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize and the Irish Times Award.
