Double Win for Leeds at York Literature Festival

We are delighted to announce that Hannah Copley won first prize in this year’s York Literature Festival / YorkMix Poetry Competition with her poem ‘Haworth, 1855’.  The poetry competition (now one of Britain’s most prestigious), attracted 856 poems from more than 400 poets. Current Leverhulme Early Career Fellow, Rachel Bower, also won fourth prize with her poem ‘Postnatal Ward’.  Further details of the competition, its winners and their winning entries can be found here.

Rachel and Hannah will be reading the forthcoming anthology Verse Matters at its launch on 19th April in the School of English. For further details, please visit the event page.
