Karl O’Hanlon’s research is centred on modern and contemporary poetry; he has published essays on W.B. Yeats, John Berryman, and Geoffrey Hill. His Leverhulme early career fellowship focuses on poets with ministerial or official roles within the Irish state from 1922. He is also researching the formation of the Gregory fellowships at Leeds. His poetry pamphlet, And Now They Range, was published by Guillemot Press in 2016, and his poems have appeared in Poetry, PN Review, Agenda, and Stand.
