Join us in celebrating the launch of the Verse Matters anthology, and to hear some of the contributors read. The anthology aims to harness the power of everyday, human stories in times of inequality and xenophobia. The book is edited by Helen Mort and Rachel Bower and published by Valley Press.

The Verse Matters anthology includes new work by well-known writers, including Malika Booker, Liz Berry, Debjanee Chatterjee and Hollie McNish alongside some wonderful writers who are being published for the first time. Many of the poems are by writers based in Yorkshire, including some for whom English is not their first language. Some of the poems are by refugees, who have sought sanctuary in the UK. All royalties from the book will be split between ASSIST Sheffield and The Cathedral Archer Project in Sheffield.

Readings by: Helen Mort, Rachel Bower, Nick Allen, Charlotte Ansell, Sj Bradley, Debjani Chatterjee, Hannah Copley, Beth Davies, Jo Irwin, Char March, and Sai Murray.
