Kimberly Campanello Wins Prestigious Award

Kimberly Campanello, poet and Lecturer in Creative Writing in the School of English and member of the Poetry Centre, has been awarded a major new bursary of €20,000 by Ireland’s Arts Council and Department of Culture, Heritage, and the Gaeltacht in Ireland.

The award was presented by the Irish Minister for Culture Josepha Madigan and is shared by Campanello and her collaborators Annemarie Ní Churreáin and Dimitra Xidous. Their project (S)worn State(S) - Poems after Countess Constance Markievicz takes the theme of 'witness' in the context of women's lives and the Irish State 2012-23 and beyond and will result in a suite of new poems produced in a special letter-press publication by The Salvage Press.
