Sarah Prescott

Literary Archivist in Special Collections

Sarah is Literary Archivist in Special Collections at the University of Leeds, where she is working on a project to promote the University’s literary collections and encourage students to explore their potential for education and research. She also works closely with the ‘Leeds Poetry 1950-1980’ archive.

Sarah’s undergraduate degree was in English and French. After graduating, she worked as an archives assistant in local authority and university archives, before taking an MA in Archives and Records Management at UCL in 2004.

Since qualifying as an archivist, she has worked in quite a range of organisations on projects as diverse as cataloguing writers’ personal papers, introducing school children to the history of lead mining, and training groups of volunteers in all aspects of archive work.
